  • Summer Reading

So after all my depressing posts I felt I needed to blog something a bit more cheerful so I thought I'd share

what I'm reading this Summer! It would be great if you would leave me some suggestions of books to check out.

    Go Ask Alice~Author Unknown

Supposedly, this book was based off of a real girl's diary but if you look online you'll find some dispute about that.

Either way I love it. The main character is a teenage girl, at first she seems to have the normal teenage problems:

she doesn't feel accepted, doesn't get along with her mother, the guy she likes doesn't seem interested etc. Then

she starts hanging with a new crowd and starts doing drugs. From there you watch as she struggles with addiction

and the chain of events it creates, you follow her through pregnancy scares, broken hearts and being a runaway.

It gets intense at times and I'll warn you now it isn't a story to read when you

want something happy but to me at least, it's wonderful because it's so realistic. It's like real life, where things aren't perfect

and things don't always work out the way you think they should.

    Locked in Time~Lois Duncan

Our main character Nore lost her mother less than a year ago. Her father sent her away to boarding school and now she is coming

to spend the summer with him in Louisiana, where he now lives with his new wife, step-son and step-daughter. At first, Nore tries

to ignore the strange feeling that something isn't right about her father's new family. For instance how her new step-sister

Josie describes being at an event that happened before she was born or how her step-mother doesn't want anyone getting to close to

the family. As time goes on Nore realizes that not only her life but her father's maybe in danger. It's a good book with several unexpected

    twists.

That's it for now, I'll put up more books soon.
